The leader of the free world has a pretty big job. Being President of the United States is no laughing matter, unless you are every other country in the world and you are currently watching our candidate selection process. If that is the case, you are laughing, and it is a laughing matter.  I personally love America. I am a proud American. I will also never utter the words, President Trump. Why, you ask? Let me fill you in.

I am a big fan of the United States for many reasons. One of those reasons is because we are a very diverse nation. We have so many people who have immigrated here for various reasons, including political asylum, the America Dream, following love, and sometimes simply to have a better life.

When I think about immigration, I always think about the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is a beacon. It is not simply a statue made of stone, it is a symbol. It is a sign. It is a promise. There is a quote on the Statue of Liberty that states,“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

What will happen if Donald Trump becomes President? My guess is that the United States will no longer be a place to run to. It will no longer be a place where people can find refuge. It will no longer be a country that stands firm in its commitment to help others and save lives. Will Trump take down Lady Liberty? Will he send her immigrant loving ass back to France?

Outside of Trumps immigration issues, I am scared for our Constitution. Our Constitution is a beautiful, living and breathing document. It clearly states that the people can break ties with tyranny and stand firm knowing that we are due life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This document is too precious to let a business man touch. This document is meant for those who respect the law. This document is for those who can interpret and understand the power it holds.

I will not feel safe knowing that Trump has any power over that document. Our founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew what was happening in America right now. If they could only see the Trump circus that has rolled through cities and towns, spreading messages of hate and intolerance. America does need change, but the hate and fear that Trump spews is not the cure. Trump is a tumor. He is a cancer that has latched onto the Republican party and is spreading like wildfire.

The definition of a terrorist is a person who spreads fear, in order to disrupt the daily lives of people, and instill fear and panic. Mr. Trump, you are doing that. You Sir are scaring me to death. Your inability to understand the value of human life baffles me. The way you speak to people, about people, saddens me. Have you ever heard the phrase “Bite your tongue?” I don’t want a President who is rude and brash.

I want a President who is compassionate and articulate. Anyone who states that they love the poorly educated because they will vote for him is a sad excuse for a human, let alone a politician who wants to hold the highest office in the free world. If you love the poorly educated so much, offer them free tuition and programs which will increase their knowledge. Donald Trump, I will never call you President, neither will my children.
